Ilkeston Festival is back for its second year with an exciting two week long programme of creative things to do, see and hear!
Once again local schools and community arts organisations have been hard at work putting together a diverse and exciting programme of activities focussing on creativity. This year’s festival takes place over two weeks and aims to get everyone involved in The Arts through a varied menu of mostly free activities for all ages.
Highlights this year include:
• Apple – Mac animation workshop at Ilkeston School,
• Oriental Brush Painting Workshop by Derbyshire Adult Community Education
• Exploring Landscapes workshops and exhibition at Granby Junior School
• Artist workshops and talk based on the contemporary exhibition at Erewash Museum
• Art Angel Studios summer exhibition and acrylics workshop
• A steel band performance in Ilkeston Market Place by ‘Hands On’ and pupils form Bennerley Fields School
•
Performance in Ilkeston Library of Dave Wood’s specially commissioned
festival poem by the new improvisational, poetry and music collective:

• ‘In the Garden’ visual arts and crafts workshop
especially for adults with learning disabilities and their friends and
families
Ilkeston Festival is supported and funded by Wash Arts, Ilkeston School, Sustained Magic Theatre Co, Fleet Arts, Ilkeston 14-19 Learning Community, Derbyshire County Council and Erewash Borough Council.
